New ways of working- images shared for remote consultations

The Covid 19 pandemic has meant that we have quickly had to move to new ways of working for the safety of both patients and staff. One of those changes has been the move to telephone consultations with a GP or Advanced Nurse practitioner. As part of these consultations there is sometimes a requirement for patients to share an image, to aid the clinician in their diagnosis.

Any images shared by a patient with Sixways Clinic will be saved and form part of the patients clinical record. Patient should not send intimate images with prior discussion with a clinician.

If you have any concerns about sharing an image with the surgery please discuss this with a clinician who will be able to provide information on alternative options for examination. Refusal to share an image will not prevent you from accessing care and treatment or lead to you receiving an inferior standard of care.
