FLU Vaccinations

There has been lots in the news about FLU vaccinations which has led to many calls and questions from patients this week. We are aware that the Government are recommending that more people have the vaccine this year. We order our FLU vaccines a year in advance so we are awaiting guidance from NHS England and Public Health around additional vaccine supplies.

We are confirming plans for the 2020 clinics in line with the new guidance and will be inviting patients to book their appointments in the coming weeks. Our team will be doing vaccinations in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) meaning regular changes, and we also need to consider the cleaning of the environment between patients. We need to maintain social distancing so will have a one way system for the clinics, and we will need to allow additional time per patient. To do this we are looking at combining our usual clinics in the practice, with some at an alternative venue this year. This does mean we have to ensure that the venue is safe and suitable, and also contact the Care Quality Commission to advise them of our plans.

Please do keep checking our website as this will be updated once we are ready to start booking you into our clinics
